When you’re a small city surrounded by the Alps, you can’t help but be amazing. Innsbruck has definitely left me a massive impression, and when it comes to food, it certainly has a way to spoil you.
I have this bad habit of saying OH SO GOOD really loud when I encounter irresistible, delicious food. My friends hate it when I say that as they say it makes me less lady-like (haha!) but they also know that when I say that the food must be good. I have three favourite things that I love from this beautiful city.
First up is the Tyrolean Grostl, this one definitely deserves a big OH SO GOOD! What’s not to love with this dish – it has potatoes and pork with some herbs cooked together topped with a big egg. It’s the perfect dish for winter but with all the deliciousness inside, the dish is pretty eateable in any season.
Second, is a dessert. If you have sweet tooth just like me and happens to be in Austria then you’d be damned if you didn’t try Sacher Torte. It is one of the most delicious dessert I have ever tasted. The cake is found everywhere, but the original one is found at Cafe Sacher and you will be begging for another bite.
Last but not least, when you go up the Alps, look out for some home-like restaurants. They usually serve home-made food which is just OH SO GOOD, but mostly they have the most amazing Gluhwein which is hot wine. I tasted some hot wine sold in streets, and the ones they have up in the Alps in Innsbruck was just absolutely addicting. Don’t drink too much though, you might get drunk without even realizing!
